Hartwick's Kirsten Hudson Named March 9 Northern Division Player of the Week
BRIDGEPORT, Pa. -- Hartwick College utility player Kirsten Hudson (Jr., Wellington, New Zealand/Sacred Heart College) scored 24 goals with 12 assists and 15 steals in five victories last week to earn the March 9 Northern Division Player of the Week.
The honor marks her fourth Player of the Week accolade of the year as she previously earned the award on February 2 & 9 and March 2.
Playing in the Marist Challenge in Poughkeepsie, N.Y., she opened the tournament by tallying a hat-trick versus Siena College (18-6 W) before tacking on six goals versus Iona College (18-11 W), four against St. Francis College (25-6 W), a season-high seven goals versus Marist College (16-12 W) and four goals versus Wagner College (16-6 W).
Her performance versus Wagner was significant as she added two assists to her four markers to shatter the school record for career points previously held by Kate Chambers (399, 2002-05).
Overall, she has found the back of the cage 72 times in 19 games this year for an average of 3.79 goals per game as she has upped her career points total to 417.
