Stanford, Hartwick & Pomona-Pitzer Remain No. 1 in March 25 Women's National Varsity Polls

BRIDGEPORT, Pa. -- Stanford University, Pomona-Pitzer Colleges and Hartwick College retained their positions at unanimous No. 1 selections in the March 25 National Varsity Top 20, Division III Top 10 and Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) Top 10 polls.

The ranking marks the fifth consecutive week Stanford has held the No. 1 spot as the Cardinal took over the top-ranking from the University of Southern California in the February 25 poll.

University of Southern California, University of California-Los Angeles and University of Hawaii remain at No. 2 through 4 as the top four positions in the poll remain unchanged from the March 18 balloting.

The only changes in the Top 20 poll occurred between No. 5 through 9 as University of California climbed one place to move back into the Top Five at fifth.  San Jose State University, which was ninth a week ago, jumped three places to No. 6, San Diego State University slipped two places to No. 7, while Arizona State University and University of California-Irvine fell back to No. 8 and No. 9, respectively.

The remaining 11 places in the poll stayed the same as Loyola Marymount University, University of California-Davis, Hartwick College, University of California-Santa Barbara, University of Michigan, California State University-Northridge, University of California-San Diego, Long Beach State University, Indiana University, California State University-Bakersfield and Santa Clara University round out the Top 20.
