Michigan's Meagan Cobb Named March 16 Western Division Rookie of the Week
BRIDGEPORT, Pa. -- University of Michigan two-meter Meagan Cobb (Fr., Hudsonville, Mich./Hudsonville) picked up her second Western Division Rookie of the Week honor tallying 10 goals with an assist, three steals and five kickouts drawn in a 6-0 weekend as she was recognized with the division's March 16 award.
She previously garnered the award on January 26 following the season-opening weekend.
Cobb opened the weekend in a pair of CWPA Western Division games as she registered two goals with a steal and two kickouts drawn in an 18-4 win over Gannon University, before tacking on a career high four goals in a 13-5 victory against Mercyhurst College.
The wins set the Wolverines' record at 6-0 in the division as Michigan is one win shy of finishing a perfect 7-0 and clinching the No. 1 seed for the Western Division Championship on April 18-19 at Indiana University.
She continued the weekend against Iona College (15-8 W), Marist College (10-2 W), Siena College (13-3 W) and Villanova University (16-2 W) as Michigan hosted the 2009 Wolverine Invitational at Canham Natatorium.
Following a goal against Iona, Cobb registered a goal with a steal an two kickouts drawn versus Siena before concluding the weekend with two goals, an assist, two steals and a kickout drawn against Villanova.
