Erin Knight Named Utica College Women's Water Polo/Swimming Coach

POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. -- Erin Knight has assumed duties as the head coach of the Utica College swimming and water polo programs in the spring of 2009 after spending a season as the assistant cross country coach for the Pioneers.

A 2003 graduate of Hamilton College where she earned a bachelor of arts degree in geoarcheology, her previous coaching experience includes working with the New Hartford Aquatics Swim Club since 2002 and most recently as a member of the New Hartford High School boys varsity swimming coaching staff.

Immediately following her graduation from Hamilton College she spent two years as a retirement plan specialist with JP Morgan.

She will be assisted by Amber McMichael, who currently serves as the top top assistant coach in both swimming and water polo for the Pioneers.

A 2008 graduate of Wagner College with a degree in sociology, McMichael was a standout water polo player ranking second all-time at the college with 100 career assists as she led the Seahawks to a 83-58 record in four seasons. Her 32 career goals ranks seventh all-time at Wagner.

She attended Govenor Mifflin High School in her hometown of Reading, PA where she was an all-state water polo player in 2002 and 2003.
