Oregon Claims Sole Possession of No. 1 in March 11 Women's Collegiate Club Poll

BRIDGEPORT, Pa. -- The University of Oregon claimed sole possession of the No. 1 ranking in the March 1 National Collegiate Club Poll as the Ducks earned 98 points to edge out the University of California-Los Angeles for the top spot.

Last week, Oregon and UCLA were tied for first in the poll. Overall, all but one of the team's in last week's Top 20 poll remain in the poll this week.

Oregon's ranking marks the first time the Ducks have held sole possession of first place in program history as the team achieved the No. 1 ranking for the first time last week with UCLA.

Overall, the Top 10 teams in the nation remain unchanged behind Oregon and UCLA as University of California-Davis, California Polytechnic State University, University of Notre Dame, University of Florida, University of Michigan, Michigan State University, University of Illinois and Grand Valley State University maintained their No. 3-10 rankings from the March 4 poll.

University of Utah moved up one place to No. 11 and Miami University (Ohio) dropped back to No. 12 for the first non-tie breaking change in the poll, while University of Pennsylvania and  University of California-San Diego stayed at No. 13 and 14, respectively.

University of Arizona moved ahead of Boston College to take possession of the No. 15 ranking and edge the Eagles back to No. 16.

California State University-Chico, Dartmouth College and Boston University held at No. 17 through 19, with Texas A&M University rounding out the Top 20 as the Aggies attained sole possession of the No. 20 ranking after being tied with New York University last week.
