Maurer, Williamson, Sosin & Merriett Named 2009 Women's Sports Information Directors of the Year
BRIDGEPORT, Pa. -- Lyndsey Maurer (Brown University), Tim Williamson (Harvard University), Ryan Sosin (University of Michigan) and Todd Merriett (Bucknell University) have been named the 2009 Collegiate Water Polo Association Sports Information Directors of the Year for the women's season.
The award marks the second in two years for Sosin and Merriett, while Maurer and Williamson pick up their first honors.
The quartet joins Dan Teliski (Gannon University) and David Gansell (St. Francis College, N.Y.) in earning honors from the CWPA during the 2008-09 academic year as Teliski and Gansell were named the Men's Southern and Northern SIDs of the Year in the fall.
Selected by the CWPA Director of Communications, the SID of the Year award is presented to those offices which have achieved notable excellence in the field of water polo communications during the past academic year.
Overall, each SID was honored in his/her team's CWPA division as Sosin (Western), Maurer and Williamson (Northern) and Merriett (Southern) were recognized from among the league's 17-active sports information offices.
In addition, Sosin was honored with the Second Annual Publication Award from the CWPA for "outstanding achievement in print materials" for the program's 2009 Women's Media Guide. The United States Naval Academy's Chris Forman earned the men's publication award in the fall.
