Carthage College Names Sarah Denny Head Women's Water Polo Coach
KENOSHA, Wisc. -- Carthage College Director of Athletics Robert Bonn has named Sarah Denny head women’s water polo coach. Denny replaces Tom Carroll, who resigned at the end of the 2008-09 academic year.
"I look forward to working with Sarah,” said Bonn. “She has an excellent water polo background as a player and coach and has been a part of one of the best club and high school water polo areas in the country."
A native of Mundelein, Ill., Denny served as an assistant water polo coach at Mundelein High School from 2006 to 2009, as well as the head coach for the Cardinal Water Polo Club team in Mundelein.
A 2006 graduate of Washington & Jefferson College with a bachelor’s in environmental health. Denny was a four-year member of the Presidents water polo team, playing on four-straight Collegiate Division III Tournament teams and was a four-time Presidents Athletic Conference (PAC) All-Academic and three-time Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) Scholar-Athlete pick.
She is employed as a project
manager for Integrated Lakes Management in Waukegan, Ill.
“I’m very excited to begin coaching at
Carthage,” said Denny. “The schools has an impressive
program already, and I can’t wait to help contribute to their
success.”
Located in Kenosha, Wisconsin, the Lady Reds are 40-48 in four seasons of competition since the program's inaugural season in 2006, including a school record mark of 18-10 in 2008 and a 10-10 mark in 2009.
