The biggest question of the season will be if Cal Poly and 2008 National Collegiate Club Champion Michigan State University can make it back to the 2009 title game. In the history of the championship, a team has advanced to the title game in consecutive years 10 times with Cal Poly (2001-02-03-04, 2007-08) and Michigan State (2005-06-07-08) leading the way to account for seven of the instances.
