Gannon Announces 2009 Women's Schedule
ERIE, Pa. -- The Gannon University Department of Athletics has announced the Golden Knights' schedule for the 2009 women's season.
The team will open its' new season on March 4 at Chapman University in the first of four contests on the West Coast. Following back-to-back games versus California Institute of Technology (March 5 & 7) and a solo game against the University of California-Santa Cruz (March 7), the Golden Knights will continue the season on March 13-15 at the Michigan Invitational on the campus of the University of Michigan.
Gannon will return to Pennsylvania for the squad's first-ever contest at new CWPA Western Division program Chatham University (March 22) before coming back to Erie to face-off with Grove City College (March 27), Washington & Jefferson College (March 28), Salem International University (March 28) and Utica College (March 29) at home.
Back-to-back games against local rivals Mercyhurst College (March 29) and Penn State Erie-The Behrend College (March 29) in Erie and a home game versus Indiana University (April 4) will wrap-up the regular season slate.
The Golden Knights will seek to finish second or higher at the Western Division Championship on April 17-19 at Indiana University with hopes of earning an automatic bid or one of two at-large bids to the Eastern Championship on April 24-26 at Harvard University.
