Oregon's Jessica Kragt Named January 26 Northwest Division Player of the Week

BRIDGEPORT, Pa. -- University of Oregon goalkeeper Jessica Kragt (Jr., Portland, Ore.) shutdown and shutout the opposition last week to earn the January 26 Northwest Division Player of the Week award.

The Ducks' netminder allowed five goals in four games with a pair of shutouts in a 4-0 week for Oregon as the 2008 National Collegiate Club Championship runner-up opened the 2009 season with a dominating 56-5 scoring advantage against the University of Washington "A" (16-0 W), University of Oregon "B" (13-1 W), Western Oregon University (9-0 W) and Western Washington University (18-4 W).

A two-time All-Northwest Division first team selection (2007, 2008) and a 2008 National Collegiate Club All-America first team pick, the Player of the Week honor continues a string of success for Kragt as she led the Ducks to the National Collegiate Club Championship game in front of a home crowd in Portland, Ore. last year with 13 saves in a 7-6 OT loss to national champion California Polytechnic State University.
