Texas' Abby Edwards Named February 23 Texas Division Player of the Week

BRIDGEPORT, Pa. -- Abby Edwards of the University of Texas scored eight goals to lead the Longhorns to a 4-0 record and earn the February 23 Texas Division Player of the Week award.

Texas, which defeated Rice University (15-2 W), Texas Tech University (7-6 W), Trinity University (13-0 W) and Baylor University (15-4), also received three assists and nine steals from the freshman on the weekend in addition to a six-of-seven performance in sprints.

Against Texas Tech in the Longhorns closest game of the weekend, she scored twice in the first period and tacked on three steals to lead Texas to victory.
