Brown's Gartner Named September 11 CWPA Varsity Northern Division Player of the Week

BRIDGEPORT, Pa. -- Brown University's Mike Gartner (Jr., San Jose, Calif./Bellermine) has been named the September 11 Collegiate Water Polo Association Northern Division Player of the Week for his performance during the period of September 3-9.

In five games, the Brown junior recorded a team-high 12 goals as the Bears went 4-1 at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology Invitational.

The 2007 All-America honorable mention selection was at his best in Brown's two closest games of the weekend, scoring six goals in a 13-7 win over defending Division III national champion UC-Santa Cruz, and tallying four markers in a 10-8 victory over Santa Rosa Junior College.
