The University of California-Berkeley retook the #1 spot in the country in the final national poll of the season as the Bears downed former #1 the University of Southern California 8-6 in the NCAA Championship Game to capture the 2007 National Championship. The ranking marks the second time in as many years the Golden Bears ranked #1 at the season's conclusion as Cal also took the 2006 National Title.
Navy was the biggest mover of the week as the Midshipmen, who finished third at the NCAA Championship, climbed two spots to tie with Pepperdine University at #7 in the poll for the highest ranking in the history of the Midshipmen's program. Long Beach State University, which was #8 a week ago, fell back to #9 due to the tie, while Loyola Marymount University, the University of California-Davis and St. Francis College (NY) held onto their positions at #10-12.
In other changes, University of the Pacific jumped to #13 and Brown University climbed into the Top 20 at #20.
