Championships Schedule and Seeding
Teams are seeded into four brackets according to their conference's finish the prior year.
The host team receives the automatic bid and therefore the twelfth seed. If the host team
wins the division, the second place team in the host region assumes the twelfth seed.
Conferences that did not participate the prior year are seeded in reverse order beginning
with the eleventh seed. If openings occur within two weeks of the tournament, the Collegiate
Director may use his discretion in locating a replacement team. The bracket seeding is as
follows:

A
B
C
D
Pacific Coast
Big Ten
Atlantic
Southwest
New England
Midwest
Northwest
New York
Host
Southeast
Mid Atlantic
Great Plains

A

C
D
Cal Poly
Michigan State
Richmond

If the host wins the Division, they will take the Northwest bid and the second best team in the
Northwest Division will take the host’s seed.

 Competitive Format
In the first round of competition, teams play round robin within their brackets to determine a
ranking. In the second round of competition, teams take on new designations, dependent upon
their finish within their brackets. All advancement is determined by won/loss records. Teams tied
in record use goal differentials with common opponents to determine advancement:

1st in bracket a = e
2nd in a = i
3rd in a = m
1st in bracket b = f
2nd in b = j
3rd in b = n
1st in bracket c = g
2nd in c = k
3rd in c = o
1st in bracket d = h
2nd in d = l
3rd in d = p
