CWPA Officials Availability Form

Assignment Process

We will do our best to assign you at the tournament sites of your choice based on your availability as well as your ability and experience. It is important that you check all the locations you would be willing to officiate. If one weekend contains several possibilities, indicate your preferences in numbered order with “1” being your first choice. For example:

Date Event School & Site Availability
14-15 Southern Varsity Regional Princeton University, Princeton, NJ
1
13-15 Heartland Club Regional St. John's Univesity, Collegeville, MN
4
14-15 Northwest Club Regional Osborn Aquatic Center, Corvalis, OR
3
14-15 Southwest Club Regional University of Arizona, Tucson, AZ
2
13-15 Texas Club Regional University of Houston, Houston, TX
5

Remember to list every site you are willing to attend even if you may not want to work every weekend. We cannot guarantee that you will always be scheduled to all the weekends you request. It is also equally important that you indicate the maximum number of weekends you are willing to work to ensure that you are not over-scheduled.

As a reminder, in order to work a varsity event an official MUST work a minimum of one club assignment. This means any official submitting a varsity availability form must also submit a club availability form. Failure to do so will result in the forfeiture of all varsity assignments. Additionally, all varsity assignments must be approved by the Technical Committee before being released.

Weekend On-Call Referee
The On-Call Referee will be the first person contacted to work on that particular weekend. This would occur when a referee returns an assignment at the last minute. The On-Call Referee will be requested to stay available up to 24 hours prior to the start of their assigned weekend. In addition to receiving the current league fees and accommodations, this official would have their travel costs covered. The purpose of this is to help ensure adequate weekend coverage as well as reward those officials making themselves available on short notice.

On the availability form, please indicate any weekend you are willing to work as the On-Call Official by checking next to the “Available as Weekend On-Call Referee.” Please note if you accept your on-call assignment you must remain available.

Digital Photos
Every referee planning to officiate at a CWPA event is required to send the office a current headshot for the purpose of posting on the assignment page of the website. A link will be attached from your name to your photo in order to allow coaches and fellow referees to see you prior to a tournament. It will also be utilized to help identify officials for the midseason rankings. If you do not have a digital photo of yourself, please send a current headshot to the office for us to scan and we will return your photo with your first paycheck. In addition, your first paycheck of the season will be held until a headshot is on file.

Payment Process
Our office works on a two week pay cycle (typically the second and last week of each month). We do our best to make sure you receive your payment within a timely manner. Payments are processed based off the submission of the Head Referee Report. In order to receive any approved reimbursements, the office must receive the original receipts before the reimbursement check will be sent.
If you ever have a question regarding a payment please contact the office immediately and we will do our best to answer your concerns. Click here for a complete description of the current pay scale.

Additional Information
As we have now done for several seasons, the CWPA will pay the insurance for every referee who works a minimum of two league games. This added benefit is one more way the CWPA wants to show its commitment to our officials for their continuous hard work. This insurance will be carried by an organization outside of the NASO. Referees working events outside the CWPA are encouraged to continue their membership with the NASO for added security.
