4-13-06 Bronwen Knox, Hartwick College
Sophomore Bronwen Knox (St. Paul’s/Brisbane, Australia) scored 11 goals in a 3-0 week for Hartwick College. She started the weekend off with six goals against Harvard in a 16-7 victory. Knox also contributed 10 steals and five assists in the three games over the weekend for the Hawks, who improved to 20-9 overall on the season.
3-30-06 Lindsey McConnelee, Utica College Sophomore Lindsey McConnelee (SUNY Brockport/Camillus, NY) had a breakout tournament in the goal for the Pioneers as she tallied 22 saves and nine steals during 11 quarters of work at the Grove City Invitational. A season high 14 saves came against Gannon University, including one penalty block. She also aided UC's counter attack with one assist.
3-2-06 Kimberley Sumich, Hartwick College
Kimberley Sumich (Avondale/Auckland, New Zealand) scored at least three goals in her last three games for the Hawks. She tallied 10 goals in a 3-1 weekend for Hartwick, including three goals in each of the wins against Bucknell (10-2) and Wagner (16-7). She also added three goals in an 8-7 loss to Marist on Sunday. So far this season, Sumich has tallied 19 goals.

4-13-06 Mandy Bynum, Bucknell University
Behind 25
total saves from junior goalie Mandy Bynum, the Bucknell women's water
polo team concluded its regular season with a road sweep of league opponents
George Washington and Maryland Saturday afternoon. The Bison defeated
the Colonials 9-7 and the Terrapins 7-1 to wrap up the regular season
with a 21-6 record, including 4-2 in CWPA Southern Division league play.
Bynum led a strong Bucknell defense in each game. She equaled her career
high with 14 saves against George Washington in the opener and followed
with 11 opposite Maryland to bring her season save total to 191 and
her career total to 707. Bynum also netted her first career goal with
a length-of-the-pool toss at the end of the third quarter against the
Colonials that gave the Bison a 9-3 advantage heading into the final
quarter of play. Bynum has been active all season with outlet-passing
for scoring plays, currently registering 17 assists. She also has 22
steals on the year. Her season save percentage is .554 her career save
average is currently .574.
3-23-06 Meagan Gins, Bucknell University
Bucknell University's Meagan Gins put up incredible numbers during the Bison's west coast competition this past week including scoring fifteen goals in three games to conclude the trip. The sophomore utility player had four goals and two assists as the Bison upset #20 Cal State Bakersfield. In wins against Whittier and Claremont-Mudd-Scripps, Gins scored six goals and two assists against the Poets and five goals and one assist against CMS. Earlier in the week Gins scored two goals against CalBaptist as the Bison defeated the Lancers for the first time in program history. Gins also had four goals, one assist and three ejections drawn in a losing effort against Redlands. Gins leads all Bucknell goal scorers with 53 goals on the season. She is second in assists with 23.
3-2-06 Liz Jensen, Bucknell University Junior Liz Jensen scored
11 goals in 4 games including a 4 goal, 3 assist performance against
George Washington in action at the Bucknell Invitational. The left-handed
utility player scored most of her goals in the first half as Bucknell
jumped to an 8-1 lead against the Colonials. Jensen would score twice
against Siena and Hartwick and put

Meagan Gins, Bucknell University
Bucknell freshman Aubrey Rowe (Carlisle, Pa./Cumberland Valley) wasted no time jumping into the scoring and record book columns as Bucknell completed its first weekend of competition at the Maryland Invitational. Rowe tied the Bucknell record for points (10) and assists (5) in a game in a 17-6 win over Cal State East Bay. In addition to the five goals/assists, she also drew one ejection and registered two steals in the game. Earlier against Siena, Rowe paced the scoring with four goals, an assist and two steals helping secure a 14-3 win. Against host Maryland, Rowe scored a goal, drew two ejections and had two steals impacting significantly in the 9-6 Bison victory.
5-3-06 Kristin Hoogenboom, University of Michigan Senior Kristin Hoogenboom (Portland, Ore./Sunset) led all Wolverines in scoring at the Eastern Championship with 11 points on seven goals and four assists. She also collected three drawn ejections and a trifecta of steals in the three contests. In the quarterfinal match against Brown, Hoogenboom was in on five of Michigan's six goals in the 6-5 win as she scored three times and assisted on two others. She also recorded a field block and drew one ejection against the Brown Bears. In the semifinal game against Princeton, the senior had a team-high two assists to go along with one score, while also forcing two steals to guide the Maize and Blue to an 8-5 victory over the Tigers. Hoogenboom left nothing in the water in her final collegiate game as she scored a hat trick, registered two steals and drew two ejections in the 11-8 loss to Hartwick. Her performance this weekend allowed Michigan to reach its record third straight Eastern Championship final.
4-27-06 Megan Hausmann University of Michigan The senior captain led Michigan to the Western Division Championship this past weekend in Bloomington, Ind. She has now been part of a team that won the Division Championship in all four of her years at Michigan. Hausmann began the weekend by handing out three assists and making two steals in a 16-1 win over Washington & Jefferson in the quarterfinal match. In the semifinal game against Mercyhurst, Hausmann scored twice and recorded one assist and one steal, while also forcing one ejection in a 19-6 victory. She capped off her weekend with the game-winning goal on a four-meter penalty shot early in the third period in a 4-3 triumph over Indiana, earning Michigan its fifth straight Division title. She had a team high four steals in the win.
4-13-06 Megan Hausmann University of Michigan Hausmann (San Diego, Calif./Bishop's),
who finishes the season second on the team in scoring (39 g, 23 a) helped
lead Michigan to a 2-1 record at the Brown Mini (April 8-9). She scored
three times against Hartwick for her fifth hat trick of the season.
She also dished out four assists, which gave her points on half of Michigan's
goals and set a career high in points with seven in the game. The senior
captain recorded three steals as well. In the next contest against Harvard,
Hausmann broke the school record by collecting eight steals in a win.
She also scored her sixth hat trick of the season. In the final game
of the Brown Mini on Sunday, Hausmann tallied five points on two goals
and three assists in an overtime win over host Brown. The senior drew
one ejection and made three steals in the game as well.

Caitlin Ewing, Grove City College
3-30-06 Melissa Soria, Indiana University Junior Melissa Soria led the No. 17 Indiana water polo team to a trio of victories at the Fluid Five Challenge in Bloomington, Ind., March 25-26. Soria notched 11 goals in victories over No. 16 Michigan (6-5), Wagner (13-9) and Marist (12-6). The wins ran the Hoosiers winning streak to four matches as IU has won 13 of its last 14 matches. In the opener against No. 16 Michigan Soria finished with two goals and a steal. She notched the first goal of the second half to tie the match at three as the Hoosiers went on for a 6-5 victory. It marked the second straight weekend IU had knocked off its rival Michigan. On Sunday, March 26, Soria notched nine goals on 10 shots in victories over Wagner and Marist. In the first game of the day against Wagner, Soria equaled a career high with four goals, only to better it by one in the win over Marist. She became the 17th Hoosier to notch five goals in a game. The Villa Park, Calif., native scored IU’s first three goals for a first period hat trick against Marist. Soria had two kickouts drawn against Wanger and one steal against Marist. For the year, Soria ranks third on the Hoosiers with 32 goals. She has started 23 matches and leads IU with 30 kickouts drawn.
3-23-06 Janis Pardy, Indiana University
In the Hoosiers' 10-9 victory over then-No. 17 Cal State-Northridge, Pardy notched her seventh career hat trick. It was her fifth three-goal game of the season as the Hoosiers picked up their second straight victory over a ranked opponent. After starting the season 0-7 against ranked foes, Pardy led the team to victory over Michigan and Northridge, their first wins over ranked opponents in 2006 and increasing their winning streak to nine matches, which ties the second longest streak in school history. Pardy also scored a pair
of goals in the Hoosiers 13-7 win over Cal Baptist on March 19. The
goals brought her season total to 33, listing her as the 11th Hoosier
to score 90 goals in her career.
3-9-06 Shana Welch, University of Michigan
Welch tallied her third hat trick of the season, in addition to two steals and one drawn ejection against Colorado State (Mar. 1). On Saturday (Mar. 4), she followed with a two-goal effort in a win over Washington & Jefferson. She then earned her fourth hat trick of the year with three goals, while also collecting three assists and one steal against Slippery Rock. On Sunday (Mar. 5), after resting against Penn State-Behrend, Welch scored four times on eight shots and had one steal against Gannon. In the final game of the day, Welch received her fourth hat trick in eight games and program-leading 33rd of her career, in additon to two assists. She tallied four shots, scoring three times.

Brooke Zimmerman, Indiana University She opened the Princeton Invitational with her first career hat trick on Feb. 17 as she scored three goals on four shots against Bucknell in a 12-9 victory. She also had two assists and a kickout earned in the contest. On the second day of the invitational, Zimmerman started the day with a solid effort against Brown that included two goals, three assists, and two steals, with the total assists a career high. She followed up that performance with her second hat trick in as many days against No. 18 Princeton. She was one of the driving forces behind the Hoosiers’ offense and defense against the host Tigers. Along with the hat trick, Zimmerman posted two kickouts earned and a team and career high four steals. Despite her efforts, the Hoosiers fell to the Tigers in sudden death, 9-8. On the final day of the Princeton Invitational, Zimmerman did not attempt a shot against Harvard, but that did not stop her from contributing to the Hoosier attack. She finished with three first-half assists and a pair of steals in the victory. The former Canadian ranks third on the team in goals (12), assists (12), steals (14) and kickouts earned (11), despite missing the first four games of the season at the Michigan Kickoff Tournament.
