Mid Atlantic Division Player of the Week

11-14 Allen Lam, University of Pennsylvania
While Pennsylvania was disappointed to falter early on at National Championships to UMass in the second round, that setback did not set the tone for senior Allen Lam's outstanding play throughout the tournament. Lam pulled through not once, but twice with clutch goals--once scoring with 43 seconds left in the fourth to send the game versus University of Washington into overtime, and again, after a weekend of consistently amazing play, by scoring the winning goal against Georgia Tech nearing the 40th minute of game play in double sudden death overtime. The year came to a fitting end for Lam, whose top level yet understated performance all season has been consistent with his incredible determination and modesty.

10-31 Luke Durkin, University of Pennsylvania
Senior Luke Durkin rounded out his final season with Penn by helping his team win the Mid Atlantic Division championship, and secure a bid to nationals. In two close games, Durkin made a solid effort defensively, chalking up three steals against Villanova, all of which resulted in goals. Durkin turned up the heat in the second half of the first place game against a determined Penn State, adding a key goal in the third and stifling PSU's offense, stealing the ball three times. For the entire weekend, he contributed three goals, making him one of Penn's leading scorers for the season.

10-17 Fran Sutter, University of Pennsylvania
In a week full of tough games, Penn captain Fran Sutter provided the team's backbone, playing huge roles both on offense and defense. Down by three at the half versus Villanova, Sutter led the rally to come back in his last home game to win by four. Sutter scored three goals in the second half, and five total, chipping in six steals and two assists. Although primarily a defensive player, Fran led the team in scoring and steals over the course of the week both at home and at Penn State, receiving no ejections and tallying fifteen steals as Penn's primary CB. In four games, Fran scored eleven goals, had four assists, and sixteen
steals total.

Jordan Sanders led his team in scoring during the five games the Wildcats played this week with 24 total goals. He drew 12 ejections, while being penalized only four times. 10-3 Matt Pietrantoni, University of Pennsylvania

New England Division Player of the Week

10-24 Dickie Lammert, Williams College
After suffering through a relatively quiet regular season while battling a sore shoulder, the team's top defender exploded for nine goals to lead Williams to a tenth consecutive Little Three title Friday night at Amherst. Lammert scored four goals in the first half of the opener against Wesleyan. But with Lammert unable to get on board against school rival Amherst, the favored Ephs entered halftime tied 5-5 with the home team. Lammert's first goal topped a three-goal spurt early in the third, before Amherst pulled within a goal. Lammert took over, scoring three unanswered goals and adding his fifth of the quarter on a half-court lob shot at the buzzer, silencing the crowd and putting the game out of reach at 13-7. Playing a new position on the man-advantage, Lammert led the way all night as the team converted nine of eleven chances against Amherst.

  10-17 Matt Derr, Dartmouth College
Derr, a high school All-American from Greenwich High School and two-time All-New England led the Big Green by scoring 13 goals in last weekend's four-game sweep. Derr dominated throughout the tournament. He won 12 of 14 sprints. His defensive play was near-perfect.

But most impressive of all was his 94-second hat trick in the first period of Dartmouth's 12-6 triumph over Williams. With the Big Green behind 0-2 after the first minute and a half of play, Derr took a pass in front of the cage and gave the ball a high flip past the outstretched arms of his defender and the Williams goalkeeper. Less than a minute later, Derr took a pass from the other side and slammed the ball into the back of the cage. And a mere 94 seconds of game clock after first goal, Derr did it again,
this time with a remarkable sweep shot.

Derr's three unanswered goals took the Dartmouth into the lead and inspired the Big Green on to victory.
