Tarheel Invitational

Carolina's annual tournament including at least 16 guys teams and 8 girls teams. The tournament runs two pools guaranteeing each team four games including one against a team from outside their region. A great chance to see teams for the first time, including teams from Canada, Puerto Rico, the Southwest division and the entire Atlantic Coast.

Playing field is 25 yards, all-deep. 1 time-out per game for each team. 2 minutes rest at quarter, 3 minutes rest at half. 7:00 stop-time quarters for men. Teams switch ends at half. Games resulting in tie score after regulation will go to immediate 3 minute sudden death overtime. If score is still tied, a shoot out will decide the winner. In case of tie in bracket, goal differential amongst tied teams will decide advancement. Current FINA rules will be followed (5 meter line, 30 second shot clock, etc). A warm up area with goals/balls will be available at all times for warm up and practice due to the tight schedule and resulting short warm up times between games.

UC-Davis is located 15 miles from the state capital Sacramento, and about 70 miles from San Francisco.

Davis is compiling a list of prices and hotel rooms within a close vacinity to the pool and will be happy to help you with fundraising ideas for your team, or anything else you may need once you get here.

The average temperature in March in Davis is about 65 degrees.

Tournament fees will be $300, to help cover pool costs, such as referees and lifeguards, etc.
