MIT Wins Division III Eastern Championships
MIT’s Stefan Bewley scored at 1:29 of the Sudden Death overtime period to beat Johns Hopkins 
University this past weekend at Connecticut College 10-9. MIT led 3-2 at the half, but Johns Hopkins 
came back to tie the game at the end of three quarters. Both teams scored four times in the fourth 
quarter to finish in regulation time, 8-8. During the first overtime period, defense was the key, as 
neither squad scored. Hopkins went up 9-8 after converting a penalty shot early in the second 
overtime. MIT then came back to even the score at nine with 1:10 remaining in the period. Johns 
Hopkins drew an ejection early in the third OT but could not capitalize. Immediately following, 
Bewley got behind the defense for a counterattack goal to win the game.

Bewley totaled three goals for the game as did Jeff Colton and Devon Charlton for MIT.  Johns 
Hopkins evened out the scoring with six different players scoring goals.
